In an article published by the online newswire Legal NewsLine, KCIC Vice President Elizabeth Hanke is quoted discussing the implications for asbestos defendants, in light of information that mesothelioma can be caused by factors other than asbestos exposure.
The story — titled "More aggressive defenses expected in asbestos cases as new information emerges of other cancer causes" — quotes Hanke as follows: "It is especially important for defendants whose products contained very low levels of asbestos and defendants who have not had an asbestos-containing product on the market for over 40 years."
